The Welland Ship Canal is part of the St. Lawrence Seaway, that connects the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. It was created to bypass the might Niagara Falls. The canal is 43 km (23.5 nautical miles) and has more locks than the famous Panama Canal!

Take a Segway Tour of the Welland Canal and learn about its history and latest engineering advances. This 1-hour tour begins with a Segway training course and then we travel from Lock 3 in St. Catharines and continues for approximately 5 kilometers towards the Niagara Escarpment.

This tour is perfect for small groups, looking to have a relaxing adventure and learn about the engineering marvel that is the Welland Canal.

Meeting Location: Lock 3 Museum in St Catharines - 1932 Welland Canals Parkway, St. Catharines, ON L2R 7K6.

We meet at the end of the main parking lot, you will see a trailer with a picture of a Segway on it.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

To change or cancel Niagara Falls Segway Tours please call or email us.  Customers will receive a FULL REFUND if they call at least 24 hours ahead to cancel.

If a Segway Tour is cancelled less than 24 hours in advance NO REFUND will be provided.

  • You are responsible for arriving on time to your Segway Tour. NO REFUND will be provided if your tour is missed (No Show). ToNiagara will specify your tour time and location through email.
  • If, for any reason your tour is cancelled (due to inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances), you will be notified as soon as possible and receive a FULL REFUND to your credit card or any other method of payment as applicable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there an age limit?

There is a minimum age limit of 12 years old minimum and each waiver must be signed by an adult. Each person must weigh between 100 and 250lbs.

Is it easy to ride a Segway?

Yes! It takes less than 10 minutes to learn how to balance.

Do I need to wear special clothing?

Please wear comfortable clothes and flat shoes (no high heels). A helmet will be provided and is mandatory.

What if I cannot keep up?

The tour consists of a small group of people and we change our speed to suit each participant's comfort level. We also take breaks if necessary so people can stretch their legs.

What happens if it rains?

We will provide ponchos and continue the tour.

Will we see any ships?

There is no guarantee that you will see any ships. 3000 vessels use the Welland Canal every year and the canal is open 24/7.
