Ken Thomson's generous gift of 2,000 remarkable works of Canadian and European art in 2002 inspired Transformation AGO, an innovative architectural expansion by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry. Transformation AGO, which was completed in 2008, was one of North America's most critically acclaimed architectural achievements. Highlights include Galleria Italia, a gleaming showcase of wood and glass that spans an entire city block, and the frequently photographed spiral staircase, which invites visitors to explore.
